• Shea Butter: Protects the skin from dehydration and other climatic influences. It is a natural fat obtained from the fruit of the West African karite tree, and has a high content of nonsaponifiable fatty acids, as well as allantoin and linoleic acid (aka vitamin F).
• Cocoa Butter: A vegetable fat from the cocoa bean which softens and lubricates the skin.
• Macadamia Nut Oil: This rejuvenating body oil has a warm, nutty aroma and excellent spreadability with no greasy feel. Its fatty acid composition is similar to that of natural skin oils (sebum), including some of the acids that are crucial to the maintenance of the skin’s water barrier functions. It is excellent for daily skin care to nourish, moisturize, soften and restore the skin, and is especially good for mature or dry skin due to its high percentage of palmitoleic acid, which decreases in the skin over time.
• Avocado Oil: This emollient oil is mildly bactericidal and very soothing and nourishing to the skin. Researchers speculate that avocado oil may mobilize and increase the collagen of connective tissue, which would help keep skin moist and smooth and aid minor skin conditions. Avocado oil also has the highest penetration rate among similar oils. It delivers essential fatty acids, and contains vitamin A (in the form of carotenoids), plus exceptionally high amounts of vitamins D, E and potassium. Typically not used alone, but blended into other oils.
• Apricot Kernel Oil: This highly-emollient oil is similar in texture and properties to almond oil (you’ll notice that the pit of an apricot looks remarkably like an almond), and is a triglyceride in the same category as olive oil and avocado oil. Apricot kernel oil is considered by many chemists to be an excellent natural replacement for mineral oil; it is rapidly absorbed by the skin and has a high vitamin E content.
• Jojoba Oil: A natural moisturizer and emollient held in high regard by the Native Americans of the Sonora Desert for its cosmetic properties and its apparent ability to heal the skin. Reduces transepidermal water loss without blocking the transportation of water vapor and gases, providing the skin with suppleness and softness.
• Coconut Oil: A highly-saturated fat consisting primarily of short-chain fatty acids bonded with glycerin. Article No. 10473 Aloe & Green Tea (140 g/4.9oz.) Article No. 10489 Lavender (135 g/4.7oz.)
