
Heartland Turkey & Tomato Soup
2 Tbsp. / 30 mL
Watkins Liquid Onion Spice
1 lb. / 454 g Turkey Tenderloin, cut into 1-inch / 25-mm cubes
1-1/2 Cups / 375 mL Sliced Carrots
1 Cup / 250 mL Sliced Celery
1 Cup / 250 mL Chopped Onion
2 Cans (16 oz. / 454 g each) Diced tomatoes and Juice
4 Cups / 1 L Water
1/2 to 3/4 Cup / 125 to 180 mL rice
2 Tbsp. / 30 mL Watkins Chicken Soup Base
1/2 teas. / 2.5 mL Watkins Black Pepper
1/8 teas. / 0.6 mL Watkins Celery Seed
Place a large kettle or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add
Liquid Spice and sauté turkey cubes until lightly browned. Add remaining ingredients and
bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes or until vegetables are
crisp-tender and rice is done.
