French Puffs
1/3 Cup Shortening
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 1/2 Cups Flour
1 1/2 teas. Watkins
Baking Powder
1/2 teas. Salt
1/4 teas. Watkins
Nutmeg
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 teas. Watkins
Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Butter, melted
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15 medium muffin cups.
Set aside. Thoroughly mix shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg in large mixing bowl. In
separate medium mixing bowl, combine flour,baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add flour
mixture alternately with the milk to the shortening mix. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3
full. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Mix the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon.
Roll warm puffs in the melted butter and then in the cinnamon-sugar mix. Makes 15 puffs.
