Basil Orange Cookies
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Cup Shortening
2 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
5 Cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
2/3 Cup Orange Juice (freshly squeezed)
3 Tbsp. Watkins
Orange Peel
1 tsp. Watkins Vanilla
1/4 Cup
Watkins
Basil
Cream sugar and shortening for 3 minutes. Add eggs and
continue beating until well blended. Add milk, mixing thoroughly. Blend dry ingredients
together and add to mixture. Add juice, peel, and vanilla. Stir in basil by hand. Bake at
350 for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookie sheets may be greased.
